Da haben wir doch glatt vergessen diesen Flyer zu posten. Ist jetzt zwar vorbei, aber der Nosegrind von Dino Brandao ist trotzdem sehenswert.. Wir hoffen, dass alle ihren Spass hatten

Sooner or later we had to have bad luck with the weather. After being really lucky on the first three evenings it rained cats and dogs yesterday. No wonder nobody showed up to watch Powell Peralta's Ban This. We (the staff) did so anyway, saw some good old tricks we should learn (Ray Barbee's no-comply to fakie bigspin..) and enjoyed a mad ping pong session on our 0.3 x 0.5 m p-p-table!

More Scandinavians!

Geir Allan Hove will let us premiere his and O˜yvind Aspen's Production called 'Neighbors'. It is a high class Skateboardmovie including parts by Jani Laitiala, Janne Sario, Henning Braaten, Anders Jorgensen, Kristian Hobolt, Stefan Jacobsen, Mika Edin and Love Eneroth. As the name says it is a co-production of the Northern countries. Skaters from Norway, Sweden, Finnland, Denmark, Iceland and the Faeroer Islands are all represented in this Video, elevating the skating to a very high level. You can read about the some funny details of the Production in the latest Kingpin Issue. The Swiss Premiere should take place on the 2nd of June at FLiX.

Scandinavians!

After sending out some mails to a bunch of filmers from Scandinavia we got immediate and positive Response. Jorgen Johannessen sent us a last years movie which documents the Norwegian scene, especially Oslo. All clean, all smooth, good filming, good skating, good skating.. So if you ever get a chance to get your sticky hands on a movie called Nor, have a watch.

Guess this Picture isn't new, but it's the only one we found from Norway, so we thought we'd post it again.. Henning Braaten (which is pronounced 'Brohten', by the way..) was so kind to show me round town and do a little switch ollie during a quick stop I had in Oslo 2004. He's one of the Skaters who has a full and very good part in the Video.

Schon wieder Probleme..

So was hätten wir verdient. Wir Diletanten!

Nachdem am vor letzten Freitag alles den Eindruck machte als würden die Filme jetzt reibungslos gezeigt werden können gab es schon wieder Probleme. Auf dem Laptop schien Javier Angulos Dia Show zu funktionieren. Dummerweise sind wir dann davon ausgegangen, dass der Beamer auch nichts dagegen hätte..
Denkste! Diese Schlampe von einem Beamer hält sich für was besseres und hat uns gelernt, dass man nichts dem Zufall überlassen darf und alles doppelt kontrollieren muss! Zum Glück sind wir zu allem noch auch die Riesen Elektronik Experten..
Als dann auch noch die Alai Dvd ein paar Hüpfer zeigte standen wir wieder am Anfang.

Nun gut. Es muss besser werden! Und wir werden unser bestes geben. Javi's Dia Show wird nachgeholt (SORRY JAVIER!!!) und bis zum nächsten Freitag wird alles wieder im Lot sein. Hoffentlich.

Last Friday

Yeahyeah.. We were really lucky last Friday and catched a moment of sunshine in between heavy rainfalls. This time everything went well with the beamer and the guests could watch the video on the big screen. Not bad that KAYO video, not bad.. Definitely worth a look, so if you can get your hands on it - do so!

Time to remind you guys that one of the big bosses over at KAYO is Swiss! For all who didn't know, Chany Jeanguenin originally comes from Biel and moved to CA to follow his career. He then started Expedition and several other brands followed. Today he's a made man, a Kung-Fu master and he still skates. Frontside K during one of his visits back home. Better recognize!

Arrrghh..

Fazit des ersten Abends: NEF! NEF! Nicht ErFüllt..

Was alles schief lief?
Erst mal führte eine Fehlkommunikation des Best Trick Contests zu genau 2 1/2 Teilnehmer.. Höhö. Also abgesagt! Oder verschoben?.. Mal sehen. Warscheinlich machen wir wieder einen Kiddy Contest..
Dann sah alles recht gut aus. Für eine weile zumindest.. Es wurde gegrillt, geskatet und geredet. Das Desaster kam dann mit dem Beamer... Und das hörte sich ungefähr so an:

'Was geht nicht?'
'Na ja, die Verbindung..'
'Was fehlt genau?..'
'Ein Kabel, aber ich hab' eins zu Hause..'
'Gut. Holst du es jetzt?..'
'Ok..'
- Däumchendreh, Fussgewippe, Leute beruhigen -
'Hey, ich habs!'
'Gut, läuft jetzt alles?'
'Neh..'
'Was ist denn jetzt?'
'Ein anderes Kabel fehlt..'
'Ach? Ich habe dir also den Laptop heute morgen vorbeigebracht zum alles prüfen und du hast genau gar nichts gemacht?' 'Na ja.. es gibt da schon eine Lös..'
'Hast du heute irgend etwas vorbereitet oder geprüft???'
'..Nein'
'Na bestens..'
'Hey, da hat jemand Bier über den Verstärker geleert. Kein Sound mehr.'
'Na toll! TOLL TOLL TOLL!!! Ok, improvisieren.. Fernseher aufstellen, Stühle umstellen und dvd laufen lassen..'
- Gesagt, getan -
'Ach! Das Bild ist blau?'
'Na hau mal drauf!'
'OK, aber jetzt ist der Sound weg..'
'Arghhh!!! Na gut ich setz' mich hinter den Fernseher und drück das Scartkabel in die richtige Ecke.. Hat wenigstens jemand eine Kamera da?..'
'Neh..'
'TOLL!!!'

Glücklicherweise ist der Fernsehr nicht explodiert und der Film selbst rettete den Abend. Er ist kompakt, bietet was zu lachen und beinhaltet das kreativste Skaten seit langem. Fun pur. Ein Film, den es sich zu kaufen lohnt, denn man kann ihn sich immer wieder ansehen. Toni says; 'Five stars and two thumbs up for a bag of suck!!!'

Und wir sind wieder auf dem Boden der Tatsachen.. denn solche Pannen relativieren den Grössenwahn.
